She will go down in history as the girl who suffered the most torture through women's crimes recorded in history. The seriousness of it is that when this case was heard in the court, there were countless women who fell unconscious from the court. It was not an easy trial. The protagonist is Junko Furuta. These are the worst forty-four days of her life. Junko Furuta is a very beautiful student who studied at Yashio Minami High School in Japan. Junko was born in Misato, Saitama Prefecture. As a teenager, she attended Yashio-Minami High School and after school worked as a part-time maid at an electronics retailer. She lived with her parents, elder brother and her younger brother. Junko is quite a proud student because of her beauty. Various young men came to seek her love, but she rejected them all meticulously. Among the young men who came to seek Junko's love was a young man named Hiroshi Miyano. Unlike other young men, his romantic invitation was quite dangerous. Miyano asks her out on a date several times, but Junko rejects him as she is not interested in a romantic relationship. Miano, who was angry with her for rejecting his love proposal, wanted to take revenge on her. Miyano is a member of an underworld gang called the Yakuza. He and his associates are a gang known for raping women. He planned to kidnap Junko along with Underworld Heat. On November 25, 1988, Miyano and his friend Nobuharu roamed the city of Minato, intending to kidnap and rape any woman they caught. At around 8:30 that night, Miano and his colleague saw Junko finishing her part-time job and getting ready to go home. At Miyano's command, Minato sped away on Junko's bike and immediately fled the scene and hid. Later, when Junko comes to go home, Miyano pretends that it was a coincidence and goes to Junko & how are you, Junko.. I'm sorry, I asked you to be friends too. You didn't like it. But it's okay, let's be friends* and offered to take her home. Although Junko did not accept his love invitation, she did not suspect him at the time. On the way, Miyano reveals his Yakuza gang connections to Junko, and subtly Miyano leads her to a nearby warehouse. He then said that if she didn't stay with him, he would join the yakuza gang members and kill Junko's entire family. She had to agree to Miano's bus that day in the storeroom because of the fear for her family. She was raped by Miano for the first time that day. This is how Miyano showed his love for Junko. Miano then put Junko in his car and drove her to a hotel. While taking her away, he brags about his exploits to his Yakuza friends Jay Ogura, Shinji Minato, and Yasushi Watanabe. They said to keep Junko locked up till they also reach the hotel. She was raped again by four people at the hotel. Gradually, Junko was repeatedly raped by members of the yakuza gang who were together in Junko's class, as well as other ordinary students. When some students did not like the act, Miyano and gang members forced them to rape Junko. In this way, Junko was polluted 400 times in forty-four days by nearly 100 people. They then took Junko to a house owned by Minato's parents. That place is their regular hangout. On November 27, Junko's parents reported their daughter's disappearance to the police. Knowing about this, Miyano forced Junko to write a letter saying that she had run away with her boyfriend and was staying with him and to stop the police investigation into her disappearance. When Minato's parents occasionally visited their home, Miyano and colleagues forced Junko to play the role of a friend's girlfriend. However, Minato's parents as well as his brother were aware of the true incident. They didn't do anything against him because they knew about his connections with the Yakuza gang, and because their own son was violent towards them.
Thus, Junko was kept in Minato's house for forty-four days due to their unbearable torture. According to her trial, the four raped her more than 400 times, beat her, starved her, hung her from the ceiling and used her as a "punching bag", hit her in the stomach with barbells and forced her to eat live cockroaches. She was also forced to masturbate in front of them by drinking her own urine. They put light bulbs and fireworks into her vagina and anus.
Her body parts were burned with cigarettes and lighters and her eyelids with hot wax.
They stood her up and hit her feet with a stick. At this point she fell unconscious. As she was bleeding profusely and pus was oozing from her infected burns, the polluters covered her hands and feet with polythene bags. They kept beating her. They poured some flammable oil on her thighs, arms, face and stomach and set her on fire again. Junko tried to put out the fire with great difficulty but was unable to stop it. Gradually her responses decreased. The last attack reportedly lasted for almost two hours. In the end, Junko breathed her last that day as the most abused girl in history. Junko Furuta was 18 years old when all these crimes were committed. It's not over yet. Within a day of her death, the police received a complaint about her death. They wrapped her body in blankets and put it in a suitcase at around 8:00 p.m., fearing that she would be caught in a murder case, and filled it with concrete. On January 23, 1989, Hiroshi Miyano and Jay Ogura were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and gang rape of a 19-year-old woman in December. At the time, they thought they were being arrested for Junko's death. During interrogation, Jay Ogura confessed the crime to Junko and told the police where Junko's body was hidden. The police were confused by Junko's confession during the trial for the murder of another woman and her seven-year-old son, which occurred after Junko's abduction.
Following the known clues, the next day, the police found the cement barrel containing Junko's body. When her lifeless body was found forty-four days later, several small bottles were lodged in her anus and her face was disfigured beyond recognition. It was reported that even though her uterus was severely damaged, she was already pregnant. Despite the brutality of their crime, the boys' identities were sealed by the court because they were all considered minors at the time of the crime. However, journalists from the Shakan Banshun magazine discovered their identities and published them publicly. They said that given the seriousness of the crime, the accused did not deserve the right to maintain anonymity.
On April 1, 1989, Jay Ogura was arrested for another sexual assault. Yasushi Watanabe, Nobuharu Minato and Minato's brother were also arrested. Hiroshi Miyano was sentenced to 17 years in prison. But it is doubtful whether he can be satisfied with the punishment for this terrible crime he committed. The two police officers who came to inspect Minato's house and turned away on a police complaint were suspended. Today, a park called Junko Furuta has been established in Japan. If you go to that park, it includes only pictures and stories that make you understand how careful a young woman needs to be in this society. But even today, people responsible for this historic crime live in Japan. If Junko were around today, she would be forty-eight years old.
Her murder case became known as the "Case of the High School Girl Murdered in the Concrete Barrel". So.. the fate of Junko, who rejected her love invitation, was resolved in a very cruel way. Junko's story is a good lesson for young women in today's society who are easily disillusioned and believe everything. (NB: This report mentions only a few of the crimes committed against Junko. All are too heinous to be published in a civilized manner.)
